X-ray crystallography is a technique for determining the three-dimensional structure of molecules. It is a powerful tool in the elucidation of the structure of a molecule at atomic resolution. New hardware and software have made crystallography appear to be an almost routine technique.

This talk will include the following aspects:

1.basics of X-ray crystallography

2.the instrumentation

3.the interpretation of structural report

4.crystal growing techniques

个人简介：

Dr. Li Yongxin（李永信），2001年于新加坡国立大学化学系获博士学位；2002年1月-8月，在新加坡国家癌症中心任研究员；2002年9月-2005年5月，成为新加坡Medipearl Pte Ltd 的研究科学家；之后，加入新加坡南洋理工大学，担任化学与生物化学系实验室和仪器设备主管。

研究领域：

1. Expert of small molecule X-ray crystallography.

2. Experienced in managing instrument laboratories.

3. Good at FT-NMR, HPLC, LC/MS/MS, FT-IR, UV, GC and Thermoanalysis.

4. Experienced in synthesis, purification and characterization of both organic and organometallic compounds.

5. Familiar with PC softwares, including word-processing, database searching, chemdraw, data analysis, and graphics.
