化学之光·名师讲坛—新加坡国立大学冯宽文博士学术报告会

基于学习社群的高校学生学习参与度提升路径研究与实践

报告人简介:

冯宽文博士 (FUNG, Fun Man)  新加坡国立大学化学系副教授。目前担任新加坡国家代表在国际纯粹与应用化学联盟化学(IUPAC)教育委员会任职, 新加坡国家化学研究所 (SNIC) 的当选理事会成员, 美国化学教育期刊《Journal of Chemical Education》的编辑顾问委员会成员,冯老师首创了IPOV(指导者的观点)方法,帮助学习者更好地理解科学。通过使用Google GlassGoPro拍摄指导视频,让学生在专家的视角下学习科学技术,重新构建了实验室教学。数据表明,他使用灯板记录了133个单元的翻转课堂,独创的360˚摄像头和无人机设计,以学生为中心的虚拟实地考察之旅,加强了学生的参与度,提高了他们的自主学习能力,冯老师的研究为理解心理学观点的应用奠定了基础。

报告摘要:

The pandemic has shown us the detriments of being isolated with a lack of social and emotional support. Even as online conferencing platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams were used to replace the virtual learning space, educators faced many challenges. These include how to keep students motivated and engaged online and foster live interactions to replicate the atmosphere of a real classroom. In this talk, I will share some case studies I led in Singapore on building psychological safety in the online classroom with the aid of free-to-use technological platforms. First, educators have to design their pedagogical practice with an awareness of the potential behavioural frictions felt by learners. Second, educators should address the social, teaching, and cognitive presences in their classroom. Finally, once these are addressed, how to train our learners to think critically? It is paradoxical but one solution could be by learning how to ask questions.
